Magnificent Minigames: Our Favorite In-Game Classics

We’ve been blessed with some excellent in-game minigames over the years. Whether it’s on PC, PlayStation, or games on other platforms, minigames add an extra dimension to games and provide the player with an extra dimension of gameplay. GGBet Estonia gamers play these games because they mix up complex story plots and allow the player to take a step away from the main missions. Here is a list of some of the best minigames that we think developers have been able to integrate into main titles:

Grand Theft Auto

We’ve seen some excellent minigames integrated into the Grand Theft Auto games and the developers at Rockstar have done a phenomenal job at keeping things fresh whilst retaining the core gameplay that’s made Grand Theft Auto a hit over the years. Here are some of our favorite games that we have seen over the years:

  • Arcade Cabinets (Grand Theft Auto V) – Head to the arcade cabinets at Diamon Casino & Resort and you’re greeted with an in-game arcade of classics that emit nostalgia and fun games. Classics include Street Crimes (Street Fighter), Invade and Persuade (Space Invaders), and more!
  • QUB3D (Grand Theft Auto IV) – Various locations in Liberty City offer players the chance to have a go at QUB3D, a Tetris-like game with a challenge for setting high scores.
  • Golf (Grand Theft Auto V) – Golf courses are featured in many of the GTA games and Grand Theft Auto V offers players the chance to hit the perfect round at Los Santos Golf Club for a fee of $100.
  • Taxi Driver (Grand Theft Auto 3) – Who can forget taxi driver!? This in-game beauty is an excellent way to make money and work on your driving skills whilst players want to take a break from the main missions.

Final Fantasy

Another game series where the game developers have been eager to include in-game minigames over the years is the Final Fantasy Series. Here are our picks for some of the best games:

  • Triple Triad (Final Fantasy VIII) – Developers released Final Fantasy VIII in 1999 and a popular minigame in the installment was a card game by the name of Triple Triad. Winning games at Triple Triad allowed players to collect prizes such as rare cards which incentivized them to come back again and again to master the game.
  • Monster Arena (Final Fantasy X) – Head to the Calm Lands in Final Fantasy X and players have the opportunity to capture fiends and weapons that can be used in fights and battles.
  • Blitzball (Final Fantasy X) – following the events in Luca in Final Fantasy X, gamers in Final Fantasy X can play Blitzball, a popular underwater sport reminiscent of soccer where team members can be recruited to compete in tournaments.

The Witcher

Another game series in which developers have injected different styles of play within the main storyline is the big hitter that’s Witcher. The Witcher games are available on multiple platforms such as PlayStation and PC, here’s some of the most popular minigames across some its recent games:

  • Gwent (The Witcher 3) – replaces ‘dice poker’ in other editions, Gwent is an in-game card game that allows players to build decks from several factions where players use strategy and nuance to win. So popular has Gwent been that it’s been developed into a standalone game by itself.
  • Horse Racing (The Witcher 3) – 11 horse races feature in The Witcher 3. Players are incentivized to win races to gain extra features within the game such as enhanced inventory.
  • Fistfighter (All Witcher Games) – Present in all of the Witcher installments, fistfighter is a good game to generate in-game money and skills. The premise is of course self-explanatory where you must defeat your opponent in a fist fight.

Minigames For The Win

Mini-games within games on PC, PlayStation, and other platforms allow you to play the game whilst not playing the game. Stuck on a difficult level? Feeling stressed but overwhelmed? The in-game mini-game allows you to casually game when the stakes are low and provides casual fun when the main story needs a break. Developers will continue to provide minigames in such titles because they’re what make great series remarkable. Long may it continue.
